The most star-studded and slimiest night in kids’ entertainment returned! The 38th annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards took over Santa Monica on Saturday, June 21, celebrating the biggest names in movies, TV, music, sports, and digital creation, as voted by kids.
Held live at Barker Hangar, the event was hosted by Grammy Award-winning artist Tyla, who kicked off the show with a vibrant dance celebration featuring popular summer songs and later closed the night with the iconic center stage sliming. The ceremony was packed with performances from Machine Gun Kelly (performing “cliché”) and KATSEYE (performing “Gnarly”), both of whom got doused in the signature green slime. Guests were also treated to impressive skateboarding stunts by legendary Tony Hawk and Katelyn West. In total, a whopping 5,000 gallons of slime were deployed throughout the show!

While many stars took home the coveted Orange Blimp trophies, some shone particularly bright:
Sabrina Carpenter’s Huge Night: Pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter was a major winner, taking home three awards: Favorite Song for her hit “Taste,” Favorite Female Breakout Artist, and Favorite Album for Short n’ Sweet. Her winning album previously spent four weeks at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and earned a Grammy.
Iconic Honors: Two special Silver Blimp awards were presented. Beloved actor and musician Jack Black was crowned the “King of Comedy” for his hilarious body of work, receiving his award from his Nacho Libre co-stars. Superstar Rihanna made history by receiving the first-ever ICON Silver Blimp Award, recognizing her extensive impact across entertainment, beauty, and activism. Rihanna accepted the award virtually from within a Smurf Village setting before unleashing a wave of blue slime onto the audience.
Host Also Wins: Tyla didn’t just host; she also took home an Orange Blimp herself, winning Favorite Global Music Star for Africa.
Multiple Wins: Several artists and actors earned multiple blimps, including SZA (Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Music Collaboration for “luther” with Kendrick Lamar), Ariana Grande (Favorite Movie Actress and Favorite Song from a Movie for “Defying Gravity” from Wicked), and Jack Black (who also won Favorite Movie Actor for A Minecraft Movie). SZA and Kendrick Lamar’s winning collaboration “luther” topped the Hot 100 chart for an impressive 13 weeks.
The show also featured appearances from a wide array of stars, including Malia Baker, benny blanco, Kylie Cantrall, Auli’i Cravalho, Terry Crews, Young Dylan, Brie Garcia, Maia Kealoha, Salish Matter, Kel Mitchell, Daniella Monet, Renee Montgomery, Victoria Monét, Leon Thomas, and Alex Warren, among others. Two live-vote segments engaged the audience directly, including YouTuber SeanDoesMagic attempting the SpongeBob SquarePants Rock Bottom Plunge and a search for Dora’s missing backpack.
