Violent Truck Explosion Rocks Chicago Suburb of Addison
A small lorry carrying propane exploded early Saturday morning in the Chicago suburb of Addison, causing significant damage to nearby homes and injuring one person. The powerful blast scattered debris, including household items and furniture, across streets and residential properties.
The explosion’s force was substantial enough to critically damage structures. Authorities reported that a piece of the exploding lorry struck a load-bearing wall of one home, rendering it temporarily uninhabitable. In total, four residences sustained damage as a direct result of the incident.
Local media reports indicate the cause of the explosion was a leaking propane tank located in the back of the truck.
The driver of the vehicle was the sole individual injured. They were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment, with officials confirming their injuries are not considered life-threatening. Cleanup efforts are expected to continue in the affected area as residents assess the damage to their properties.
