Samsung is officially ready to unveil the next generation of its Galaxy devices, confirming a summer Unpacked event for July 9, 2025. The technology giant is poised to showcase its latest foldable smartphones alongside significant advancements in artificial intelligence.

Mark your calendars: The “Galaxy Unpacked July 2025: The Ultra Experience Is Ready To Unfold” event is scheduled to kick off in Brooklyn, New York, at 10 a.m. Eastern Time (ET). For those worldwide, Samsung will provide a global live stream via Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom, and the company’s YouTube channel.

This event marks a return to New York for Samsung’s mid-year launch and is heavily anticipated to feature the successors to the popular Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip series. Invitations and teasers strongly hint at the debut of the likely named Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, with the theme itself suggesting an “Ultra” model could enter the foldable lineup, potentially the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra.

Samsung is positioning this launch as a pivotal moment for the evolution of the smartphone, with a strong emphasis on Galaxy AI. The company envisions AI becoming the primary user interface, transforming devices from mere tools into intelligent companions that understand user intent and respond in real-time. This software innovation is expected to be supported by “breakthrough hardware” designed to unlock the full potential of integrated AI capabilities.

What to Expect: Rumors and Anticipation

Beyond the confirmed date and AI focus, leaks and reports offer a glimpse into potential device specifics:

Galaxy Z Fold 7: Rumored improvements include a thinner unfolded profile, a potentially larger internal foldable display (possibly 8 inches), and significantly upgraded camera capabilities, with speculation pointing to a 200-megapixel main sensor similar to the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Performance boosts are also expected via new internal processors.
Galaxy Z Flip 7: While main cameras might see only software optimization rather than hardware changes, the device is heavily rumored to feature a much larger cover display, potentially expanding to a full 4 inches for enhanced usability when closed. A slightly larger internal screen (around 6.8 inches) is also anticipated.
Galaxy Watch 8 Series: Following previous Unpacked patterns, new wearables are likely. Updates to the standard Galaxy Watch line (expected as Galaxy Watch 8) are probable, with rumors suggesting a possible return of the Classic model featuring a physical rotating bezel, and potentially a Watch Ultra (2025) model.
Galaxy Buds Core: Teasers suggest new earbuds could also be part of the July 9th announcement.

While the focus is on consumer devices, Samsung has also teased future concepts like a tri-fold smartphone and is working on an XR headset (“Project Moohan”) with Google, so glimpses of these future innovations are not entirely out of the question.

Ahead of the official unveiling, Samsung has opened an obligation-free reservation program. Interested customers can sign up on Samsung’s website simply by providing an email address. This reservation secures a $50 credit towards ecosystem purchases (like accessories) when pre-ordering the new devices, a 3x multiplier on Samsung Rewards points, and entry into a $5,000 prize drawing. Additional savings of up to $1,150 through trade-ins are also being teased. The reservation window is open until July 8th.

With its focus on cutting-edge foldable hardware and a deep integration of AI as the core interface, Samsung’s July 9th Unpacked event is shaping up to be a major showcase for the future of mobile technology.
