Scott Wolf Seeks Restraining Order on Estranged Wife Kelley Amid Divorce Drama

Party of Five Star Files for Protection as Split Turns Bitter

Actor Scott Wolf is seeking a temporary restraining order against his estranged wife, Kelley Wolf, amidst an increasingly tumultuous divorce battle that has recently spilled into dramatic public incidents involving police intervention and hospitalization.

According to court records, the 57-year-old “Party of Five” alum filed the request in Utah on Tuesday, June 24. The documents supporting the request, including declarations from Scott Wolf and his brother, Michael Wolf, have been sealed. Kelley Wolf, 48, confirmed to reports that she was served with the order on Wednesday, June 25. A court hearing related to the restraining order is reportedly scheduled for July 1.

Divorce Context and Rapid Escalation

This legal move follows Scott Wolf’s decision to file for divorce on June 9, ending his 21-year marriage to the former “Real World: New Orleans” cast member. At the time, Wolf issued a statement calling it “the most difficult decision of my life” and emphasizing that their children were their “every priority,” requesting privacy. Months prior to the filing, Scott had alluded in interviews to facing recent “challenges” that had required “reframing.”

However, the situation appears to have escalated rapidly since the divorce filing, culminating in a highly public incident on June 13, where Kelley Wolf was detained by police in Utah and subsequently hospitalized.

The June 13 Incident: Police Response and Conflicting Accounts

The dramatic events of June 13 began with police responding to the Wolfs’ residence after a 911 call. While heavily redacted reports initially mentioned a “verbal dispute” related to a “divorce battle” involving a brother-in-law, details from multiple sources paint a more complex and concerning picture.

Calls for Help: According to dispatch audio, a friend of Kelley’s had placed a 911 call requesting a “mental health team” for Kelley, describing an “escalating mental health crisis” and noting she had been trying to get help for her friend for “weeks to months.” The friend characterized Kelley as “very skittish” and “very anti getting help.”
Disturbing 911 Audio: Separately, disturbing audio obtained from a 2:50 a.m. 911 call reportedly featured a sobbing woman who felt unsafe with her brother-in-law in the home. The caller alleged psychological abuse, “child alienation,” claiming the brother-in-law had convinced their 16-year-old son she was a “cheater, an adulterer” amidst the “very bitter divorce battle.” The caller reportedly mentioned this was the second time police had been called on the brother-in-law that day.
Police Encounter: When officers arrived, Kelley Wolf live-streamed part of the encounter on Instagram, during which she argued with police, called their actions “shameful,” and alleged that Scott and the officers were “abusing” her. Officers in the video can be heard telling her she wasn’t going to jail but that they were there to get her “some help” because she had made “concerning comments” to family and other individuals.
Alleged Past Assault: Reports also indicate that during the June 13 response, police spoke with an unnamed male who detailed an alleged “past-occurred assault” from March 6, before the divorce filing. This male claimed someone had put hands around his neck, though not restricting airflow. He later declined to press charges for this alleged incident after being contacted by police following Kelley’s hospitalization.

    1. Hospitalization: Law enforcement later confirmed they transported Kelley to a local hospital because she had made “concerning comments” to deputies and a family member. She was reportedly placed on an involuntary 5150 hold.
    2. Kelley Wolf’s Response Post-Release

Following her release from the hospital, Kelley Wolf took to Instagram to share her perspective and make further claims. While initially posting that the experience was “horrible” but she was “happier than I have ever been” (even sharing a photo appearing to show a hospital bracelet), she later became more explicit.

She directly denied having “No mental illness. No addictions,” stating she “SURVIVED an involuntary 5150.” In subsequent posts, she alleged she had been “held against [her] will” and criticized a “small but very vocal group” of friends who she claimed “weaponized” their concern by calling police from afar without offering personal support, arguing that while the police action might have been legal, it wasn’t right, especially regarding how easily concern could be “weaponized” against women.

More recently, she has made further allegations against Scott, claiming he filed for divorce despite her wishing for a legal separation for nine months and alleging he took their three children to Boston without informing her, prompting her to try and locate them.

      Family and Future Proceedings

Scott and Kelley Wolf married in 2004 after meeting in 2002 following her appearances on MTV. They share three children: sons Jackson (16), Miller (12), and daughter Lucy (11). Scott’s divorce petition reportedly includes a sealed proposed parenting plan.

Since his initial statement confirming the divorce filing, Scott Wolf has largely remained silent on the escalating public conflict, aside from a recent Instagram post referring to his children as his “forever squad.”

As the contentious divorce proceeds in Utah courts with sealed filings and a scheduled hearing related to the restraining order, the public drama surrounding the separation of Scott and Kelley Wolf continues to unfold.
