Thieves Break into Brad Pitt’s Los Angeles Home
Sources indicate that the Los Angeles home of acclaimed actor Brad Pitt was recently targeted in a burglary, with three suspects allegedly breaking into and ransacking the property while the star was out of town. The incident occurred at Pitt’s residence in the Los Feliz neighborhood late Wednesday evening, around 10:30 p.m. local time.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), officers responded to a report of a break-in at a property in the 2300 block of North Edgemont Street. While the LAPD did not officially confirm the owner, the address matches that of a home reportedly purchased by Pitt in April 2023 for $5.5 million.
How the Burglary Unfolded
Authorities stated that the three suspects gained entry into the large, three-bedroom home by breaking through a front window. Once inside, they proceeded to “ransack the location.” The suspects fled the scene with stolen items, described by police as “miscellaneous property.” The specific nature or total value of the items taken was not immediately disclosed by officials, and the LAPD would not confirm the value.
Crucially, officials confirmed that no one was home at the time of the burglary, ensuring the actor and anyone else potentially associated with the property were safe.
Pitt Was in the UK for Film Premiere
US media reports indicate that Brad Pitt was traveling internationally when the break-in occurred. He was in the United Kingdom earlier that week, attending the London premiere of his new film, “F1,” which was scheduled for release on Friday. Pitt was accompanied at the premiere by fellow Hollywood star Tom Cruise and seven-time Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton.
The Los Feliz home, located just outside Griffith Park and near the famous Hollywood Sign, is reportedly surrounded by a large fence and greenery that helps shield it from public view.
Part of a Worrying Trend
The burglary at Brad Pitt’s property is the latest in a recent string of crimes targeting high-end homes and celebrities across Los Angeles and Southern California. These incidents have raised concerns among wealthy residents and law enforcement.
Recent victims of such burglaries include actor Nicole Kidman and musician Keith Urban, whose LA home was burglarized earlier this year, and Los Angeles Football Club star forward Olivier Giroud, from whose Southern California home a significant amount of jewelry was reportedly stolen.
Authorities have noted that some of these high-end burglaries across the country have been linked to organized “South American burglary crews,” though it remains unconfirmed whether the incident at Pitt’s home or the other recent celebrity cases in LA are directly connected to these specific groups.
In a separate, unrelated incident also highlighting celebrity-targeted crime in the area, a man was recently arrested on stalking and vandalism charges after allegedly ramming his vehicle into the gate of the home of Pitt’s ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston.
Police are continuing their investigation into the burglary at Brad Pitt’s home and are searching for the three suspects involved. Representatives for the actor were contacted regarding the incident, but no comment was immediately available.
