Owen Wilson Set for Meet the Parents 4 Return with Stiller, De Niro

Get Ready to Meet the Parents… Again! Owen Wilson Confirmed for Fourth Installment

It’s official – the Focker family saga is far from over! Owen Wilson is set to reprise his fan-favorite role as Kevin Rawley in a newly confirmed fourth installment of the hit comedy franchise, Meet the Parents. He joins fellow returning series stars Ben Stiller as Greg Focker, Robert De Niro as the formidable Jack Byrnes, and Teri Polo as Pam Focker (née Byrnes).

Adding fresh energy to the beloved cast is Grammy-winning artist and actress Ariana Grande, who is confirmed to join the family chaos.

Kevin’s Back: Greg’s Rival Returns

Owen Wilson’s character, Kevin Rawley, is known to fans as Pam’s charming, wealthy, and seemingly perfect ex-fiancé. His presence has historically been a significant source of insecurity and comedic rivalry for Greg, while simultaneously making him a clear favorite in the eyes of the ever-skeptical Jack Byrnes, who often uses Kevin as a tool to needle Greg. Details on Kevin’s specific role in the upcoming story are still under wraps, but his return guarantees another layer of awkward tension and hilarious comparisons for poor Greg.

A Generational Shift: Plot Details Emerge

While the full plot for Meet the Parents 4 is being kept largely confidential, intriguing details are beginning to surface, hinting at a clever inversion of the original film’s premise. Producer Jane Rosenthal recently teased a storyline centered around a generational shift. Ben Stiller’s character, Greg, is now roughly the same age Jack Byrnes was when Greg first met him.

Reports suggest the plot will focus on Greg and Pam’s now grown-up children. Specifically, the story is said to follow their son as he gets engaged to a woman described in early reports as “ball-busting” and seemingly “all wrong for him.” Ariana Grande is confirmed to play this challenging fiancée character. This setup flips the script, putting Greg and Pam in the shoes of the scrutinizing parents, navigating the anxieties of meeting a prospective in-law, much like Greg did with Jack in 2000.

Behind the Camera and Release Date

John Hamburg, who co-wrote the screenplays for all three previous films in the series, is stepping up to both write the screenplay for the fourth movie and direct. Hamburg recently directed Wilson in the final episodes of his Apple TV+ series “Stick,” suggesting a comfortable working relationship already in place.

Universal Pictures is set to release the film theatrically in the United States on Wednesday, November 25, 2026. Paramount Pictures will co-produce and handle the international distribution.

A Legacy of Laughs and Box Office Success

The Meet the Parents franchise has proven to be a comedic powerhouse and a significant box office success. The original film, released in 2000, was a critical and commercial hit, grossing over $330 million globally and becoming the seventh highest-grossing film worldwide that year. Its sequels, Meet the Fockers (2004) and Little Fockers (2010), also performed well, bringing the total franchise gross across three films to over $1.13 billion worldwide.

Returning producers from the franchise’s history are on board, including Jane Rosenthal and Robert De Niro through Tribeca Productions, Jay Roach (director of the first two films) through Delirious Media, Ben Stiller and John Lesher through Red Hour Films, and John Hamburg through Particular Pictures. Oversight at Universal Pictures is being handled by EVP of Production Development Matt Reilly and Director of Production Development Jacqueline Garell.

With key cast members returning and a fresh generational twist on the premise, Meet the Parents 4 is shaping up to deliver a new chapter of comedic family dysfunction that fans have waited years to see.
