OnePlus Unveils Major Product Lineup Expansion Coming July 8th
OnePlus is gearing up for a significant summer launch event, officially announcing plans to release five new devices next month. Headlining the reveal is the highly anticipated OnePlus Nord 5, alongside a more affordable Nord variant, a new entry-level tablet, an updated smartwatch size, and a fresh pair of earbuds. These products are confirmed for launch in Europe and India on July 8, 2025, with some also slated for other markets like the US.
While full specifications and pricing will be detailed at the dedicated event, OnePlus has shared crucial insights into what consumers can expect, particularly for the performance-focused Nord 5 and additions to its growing ecosystem.
The Headliner: OnePlus Nord 5
The OnePlus Nord 5 is positioned as a key device aiming to shake up the mid-range smartphone segment. It marks a significant step for the popular Nord series by incorporating a flagship-tier Qualcomm chip, specifically the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Mobile Platform. Described by OnePlus as an “unfairly high-spec chipset” for this category, the 4nm chip is paired with LPDDR5X RAM, promising a substantial boost in performance.
OnePlus is heavily emphasizing the Nord 5’s capabilities for gaming. The device will support Snapdragon Elite Gaming features, including hardware-accelerated real-time ray tracing. Impressively, OnePlus claims the Nord 5 can run popular titles like Battlegrounds Mobile India natively at 90 frames per second (fps), utilizing frame rate interpolation to push performance up to 144fps. Call of Duty Mobile is also expected to reach 144fps.
To sustain this high performance during intense gaming sessions, the Nord 5 features an advanced thermal management system. This includes a large 7,300 mm² Cryo-Velocity VC cooling system and graphene thermals, technology seen in the flagship OnePlus 13, covering critical components like the CPU, cameras, and battery.
In terms of design, the Nord 5 adopts a vertical rear camera array with two lenses and will be available in a distinctive pale blue finish called “Dry Ice.” A notable change is the replacement of OnePlus’s traditional Alert Slider with a new customizable “Plus Key.” This key isn’t just a physical button; it’s linked to a new “AI Plus Mind” feature, which allows users to press the key to recognize and save screen content as ‘memories,’ offering suggestions and enabling AI Search within that saved content. Rumors suggest the phone might feature a glass back but potentially move to a plastic frame this year. While official display specs are pending, the mention of 144fps gaming has fueled speculation of a possible 144Hz OLED panel, building on the Nord 4’s expected 6.74-inch 120Hz Full HD+ display. Leaks also hint at a significantly larger battery, potentially reaching 7000mAh or even 7500mAh, likely supporting 100W wired charging. Expected pricing is similar to the Nord 4, aiming to stay competitive in the sub-£500/€500 bracket. The main Nord line is generally not released in the US.
Expanding the Ecosystem
Alongside the Nord 5, OnePlus is adding four other devices to its portfolio:
OnePlus Nord CE 5: Positioned as a more affordable option in the Nord series, the CE 5 will feature a “Marble Mist” finish and is also confirmed to include the new Plus Key and AI Plus Mind features found on the Nord 5. Fewer technical details have been officially released for this model so far.
OnePlus Pad Lite: This is announced as an “entry level” tablet, described as an affordable hub for entertainment and productivity. It features the same central, circular camera module as older OnePlus tablets, differentiating it from the newer Pad 3 design. While OnePlus only confirmed its “Aero Blue” color in Europe, leaked specifications point to an 11-inch LCD display, a MediaTek Helio G100 chipset, and the possibility of an optional cellular version.
OnePlus Watch 3 43mm: To complement the existing 47mm model, OnePlus is introducing a smaller 43mm size for the OnePlus Watch 3. This variant aims to better suit users with smaller wrists while retaining key features and adding some exclusive monitoring capabilities. It will be available in a “Silver Steel” finish and is confirmed for release in the US market.
OnePlus Buds 4: These new true wireless earbuds are being positioned as offering “flagship sound quality.” Key audio features include Dual Drivers, Dual DACs, support for Hi-Res LHDC 5.0 audio, and 3D Audio. For gamers, they promise a low 47ms latency Game Mode (best achieved when paired with OnePlus phones). The Buds 4 will be available in Zen Green and Storm Gray colors and are also confirmed for release in the US market.
This comprehensive summer launch underscores OnePlus’s strategy to evolve into a premium ‘Android Builder,’ expanding its reach across smartphones, tablets, wearables, and audio. By bringing performance enhancements and ecosystem integration to the mid-range, OnePlus aims to make the “Fast & Smooth” experience more accessible to a wider audience.
Enthusiasts and potential buyers can look forward to the official launch event on July 8th for the complete unveiling of specs, pricing, and availability details for all five new OnePlus devices.
