This potential change could echo a move Samsung made years ago, one that required stylus enthusiasts to purchase and carry the S Pen separately.
The rumor originated from a trusted leaker in China and was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by tipster @Jukanlosreve. According to this source, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra flagship might abandon the integrated S Pen storage solution.
Will the S27 Ultra Mirror the S21 Ultra Experience?
If the leak proves accurate, the Galaxy S27 Ultra could follow a similar path to the Galaxy S21 Ultra from 2021. That model did not have a dedicated space within the phone for the S Pen, requiring users to buy it as an extra accessory and store it externally (often via specific cases).
The leaker’s information implies that the S27 Ultra, expected in 2027, might revert to this model, making the S Pen an optional add-on rather than an included and integrated feature.
